Hi Ben,

You should be able to put the mail server settings / user / pass and then turn SSL off.

Do you know this info?

Which provider are you with?

This link might help but obviously use your server info.

Alternatively, you could use a gmail account and use this to manage all of your other email accounts.

iPhone synvs very well with gmail and google calender.

In gmail you can edit your account preferences and add other email accounts you have so that you gmail account will 'fetch all' your other emails, pull them in and display them in your one gmail account which is syned to your iPhone.

You can also use the gmail account to send from all of your other email accounts.

Google really do know how to make things simples

can you go into this a bit more... trying to set up a sync between my iphone and outlook via gmail...

ive got gmail account on iphone setup as IMAP,

gmail account is IMAP enabled.

now am i right in thinking if i add a IMAP gmail account in outlook as this tutorial says: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/microsoft-office/use-gmail-imap-in-microsoft-outlook-2007/

all the mail that comes off my mail server into outlook will sync with gmail and then as a result i can recieve them on my iphone, and also fact if i delete emails from either outlook or gmail they will also be deleted from my iphone??

Yes, that's how it will work :)

The same as if you put emails in a folder it will change at every end!
