Warehousing/fulfilment + distribution

Just wondering if anyone can recommend a company/companies (preferably in London) that offer small business warehousing/fulfilment + distribution services on a short-term basis. Or, alternatively someone who consults in supply-chain management.

On reading reviews of businesses offering such services I haven't managed to find any with an acceptable level of positive reviews online.

Hello! Thanks for replying. I had, briefly but decided against it because I don't intend to sell through Amazon. I haven't fully investigated their services but presumed that would be a necessary part of using any warehousing etc services of theirs

You don't have to offer your products for sale on the Amazon website, you can just use their fulfilment services. There is some good info here:

It's very flexible and easy to test with a small amount of stock so might be worth looking at. There are some situations where it might be expensive (wholesale for example) but generally it's good value.

However, we are in Dorset, and a new company, so no online reviews - but that doesn't mean that we can't deliver the service that you require!

Software is not an issue - we have our own WMS (web based0 that can receive orders for pick and pack, etc., - and also allow you to view your stock levels by SKU on line live.

Having seen the recent complaints about Amazon, I'd like to say that we offer a much better service than Amazon!

We are mainly aiming our services at the smaller businesses, although happy to help any size company. We give more personalised attention too and aim to give the service that the customer wants, including any different/unusual requests that they may have, with all orders being despatched within 24 hours of receiving them.

We are a new company, and a small company, but growing slowly. With being small, it means that you can get to know the person/people that deal with your fulfilment, which makes it easier should there be any queries or changes needed with orders etc.

That's an Amazon Marketplace issue though, not an FBA issue.

What are the recent complaints about Amazon?

I was talking generally about Amazon service, no particular part of Amazon. There are often complaints about the service they provide (including some recent postings on these forums).

Haven't got an actual example for you, but you don't have to look far to see complaints about the way they treat customers, the way they treat sellers and the way they treat their staff. And from what I read, it is not just in the UK that their treatment of others is bad.

Bad treatment of others, in my mind, leads to a bad service, whatever service is supposed to be being provided.

I think you may find that one of the major issues they have is with the big book publishing houses - a massive argument is going on over prices and services Amazon charge for!

That's an Amazon Marketplace issue though, not an FBA issue.

Its an FBA issue when you use FBA to sell not only throught amazon, but throught other channels, like ebay, your own website, etc.
Imagine you are selling at amazon using FBA but you are selling much more in other channels than in amazon, this sales info will be processed and studied by amazon to consider try to see the products that you are selling very well outside amazon.
