Just after some guidance really. I run a taxi and minibus company in Cheshire.
I own the domain cheshiretaxis.co.uk. How can I use this other than standard domain forwarding to my business website address?

Ideally I would like to get this domain indexed in Google. I'm assuming this will improve my ranking because it more seo/keyword friendly?
Or is it a google no no to have to domains for one site?

I've searched online for a guide but I'm not really sure what subject to search under.
Thanks for any help.

Unfortunately the name on its own won't be enough to be "SEO friendly" especially if it only links to your main website. It's other factors like relevant content, incoming links, and so forth which are more important.

You haven't mentioned what your main business website is called but I'd be tempted to run two separate websites. That'll give you double the exposure and you could always link to your main business site from cheshiretaxis.co.uk (or vice versa).

All depends on what you want to achieve and how you have your business set-up. Don't forget that it's fine to have seperate sites and essentially trade under different "brands" as long as you make it clear on the site that the business is owned by xyz.ltd or whoever. Whatever you do though, don't simply "clone" the other site, that is frowned upon by search engines. You would need to make sure that the content is relevant but different.

Alternatively, set up the site with 'Taxi Tales' - interesting, exciting, unusual, or otherwise compelling articles throughout the site. Keep adding to it regularly. Make sure you put a clear ad banner on the site for your company with 1 lovely sitewide link (or homepage link).

As this site grows in popularity, you might be able to 3 way link exchange, whereby you link to some neighbor/area sites from Taxi Tales, and in return they link back to your money site ;)
