I've an older PC which isn't wireless (use Ethernet cable)

What's the best way of making it Wireless when moving it to another room

Just plugin USB Wi-Fi adapter or buy and fit a PCI-E Wi-Fi card ?

You should be fine with just a usb dongle. There are really only 2 wifi dongle makers on the market and the they are all rebranded from the OEM in the class you are buying in. Based on testing even the cheapest unbranded works fine in windows and Linux. Macos different story. Go for a tp link ( shitty products but fine for usb dongles) , tenda or Asus ones.
