So I go to order some stock for a few clients just now to be asked to slap in my Verified By Visa stuff.

Not a problem eh? Fire in my registration details, create a password, and bob's my uncle. Nope.

"One or more of the identifying pieces of information you have provided could not be matched with our records for this card. Please try again, making sure you type the information correctly. You may contact Abbey on 0845 600 4388 for assistance. (5070) "

So I phone up Chris to be told that sometimes there's a problem doing it through an external site, and I should fire on over to Abbey's sh1te (sorry site). Nope. Same error.

So I phone Chris again, and he takes my Security questions. They don't match.

Turns out the tit at Abbey typed in my date of birth wrong on their system.

So I now have to fax in my details apparently. Me not happy! So I demand to be put through to Business banking. I speak to Laura who goes to check my details. Sure enough, my photocopies are still on the Accounting system and they confirm they've made a mistake.

They are now going to correct my date of birth on their system but this can take around 2 working days to go through. So now my business debit card is out of action and I can't fulfil my customers orders.

That's £60~ for one customer's hard drive, plus the fitting and the copying of data. Around £150 lost. Don't even want to go into details about the other customer.

Wouldn't be so annoyed, but when I first opened my Abbey account, it turned out another typing error had been made and they sent my Cheque Book, Debit Card, and PIN NUMBERS, to a completely different address than the one I signed up for.

Thanks Abbey. For Nothing.

Saving up for you implants are you?

Well, you won't get much for a couple of hundred quid. Still, anymore than a handful eh?

In that case you only need one. The other hand is going to occupied (holding the beer bootle).

You know, seems everything is down to personal experiences and which particular person who deals with you at any particular time.

For example, I've been with Alliance and Leicester Commercial Bank, since I started out in business. I have a great on-line banking facility, all my phone enquiries have been dealt with swiftly and efficiently and nothing has ever, ever gone wrong.

I even once managed to go over drawn on the account (Not a good thing I know and quite some time ago now), they sent me a letter indicating they paid the sum, and didn't even charge me.

I'm extremely chuffed with A+L.

However, there are people out there, that hate them!

I haven't been particularly pleased with Abbey's online systems for a while.

Then last week someone somehow managed to pinch £4k from our account so I opened an account with HSBC yesterday.

We got the money back quite quickly from Abbey but I have no faith in the security of their internet banking any more.

Last night I tried to do my usual banking of cheques only to be told by the ATM that there was an error.

I brought this up with Laura whilst on the phone with them, and she confirmed there had been no problems. Went up to my usual ATM today (about a ten minute drive), SAME ERROR AGAIN

So... Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I decided to travel to my next-nearest Abbey (another 15 minutes away). SAME ERROR.:mad:

Bunch of BANKERS!!!
