I am hoping to get your feedback on a new startup idea I've been working on. I have identified a gap in the market when it comes to connecting individuals seeking hair transplants and restoration services with qualified hair specialists.

The startup which is an online platform designed to bridge the gap between individuals seeking specialised hair care services and qualified hair specialists. Whether it's hair transplants, consultations, or specialised treatments, the platform provides a seamless and convenient way for clients to connect with trusted experts in the field.

Through my initial market research and conversations with multiple potential customers, I recognised that the current process for researching, evaluating and selecting hair specialists can be extremely difficult and frustrating for consumers. I've spoken to some people through via online communities who have previously had procedures done said if they could go back in time, they would have used a service like I am proposing.

Before moving forward with the MVP (initial designs are complete), I would greatly appreciate any thoughts, advice or validation from this community on the merits of this concept and on if you think, it solves a real pain point worth pursuing.

    Thanks

Sounds like a "compare the market. com" for a specific market segment my initials thought how big a survey have you carried out and where do you envisage your income stream coming from, adverts on site, commissions for referrals etc etc

Yeah I understand the comparison. One could also compare it to the Uber/AirBnB business models too.

I've messaged 50+ people on different social platforms, and 20+ have got back to me saying if they were to go back in the past when they had their transplant, they would be interested to use the platform for a more efficient search. I know small sample size, so i do intend to extend this research.

In terms of revenue, initially the MVP may not having many payment streams. Possibly a specialist monthly fee to place their clinic on the platform.

However, over time as the platform scales I envision numerous options for generating payment revenue streams, such as, transaction fee's, referral's for free consolations leading to treatment, priority placement and more.

Usual old thing with anything web based... it might be the best designed prettiest app in cyberspace, but its absolutely no use unless its attracting traffic.
Your plan needs to include how you propose to get traffic to the site from both sides of the hair replacement divide to give your site a chance of becoming viable.

Why such an narrow niche? Your plan should also include expansion - probably to other contranature therapies commonly used by the opposite gender to that most commonly associated with hair transplant therapies.

Not your target market... yet, but there is still time ?

My advice is to pay attention to @Socio South West advice, because without some significant marketing strategy no one will know about, and no one will subsequently care about, your service. Your success is more about your marketing and less about your website, your website can look rubbish but still work and make good money if enough people find it.

I see lots and lots of adverts on the London Underground and around there for a hair transplant clinic, you need to be more visible than they are for less money so they decide that working with you is more effective and a better use of their marketing budget than the London Underground. Your marketing strategy should detail how you will achieve that.

You said you asked people on social media. Did you also ask them how they found someone to do their transplant?

If their answer was by doing a Google search then you need to be ranking across the whole country to get seen. This isn’t going to be easy as you will need to invest more time and money than everyone else selling the same service both nationally and locally.

If their answer was via social media (or YouTube) your idea will never get seen unless you cough up considerable cash.
