Hi all
Does anyone know of any companies that will manage a social media account and what sort of prices they charge, twitter for example, tweeting company and industry relevant information?

Social media is - Pure research, its time consuming to start with and requires a lot of industry knowledge. Social media experts will need to work closely with your employees for information and it needs to be kept updated constantly.

Not all businesses can achieve results from social media. New FMCG's have had great success at launch also very popular products that require renewals (like supplement) also get good result.

what type o business is it.

Hello :)

Firstly you need to look at Social Media differently, too many companies are jumping on the bandwagon hearing about Twitter this and Facebook that.

You need to plan ahead and work out what you want to acheive by using Social Media, how will your company benefit? Have you got the time?

You can hire anyone to send out industry tweets for you, but WHO is going to connect with your audience? It takes a long time (usually) to build up a rapor with followers and interested parties. There are very few who get away with just tweeting news and company info.

IF a client has a managed account it is around 80% IMVA 20% client, you are the only one who knows your industry inside out and can provide the info required, suggestions can be made but usually my role is research, suggestions, planning and management. You do the connecting and schmoozing ;)

Thank you Dotty for recommending me :)

Kind Regards

Emma

Yes, there are lot of companies out there who offer to manage a social media account in an affordable prices. I suggest you to check it online and before that it’s better if you do some research and know how things work in this field. It’s always good to have some knowledge about things we deal with.

I'd also consider what you want to get out of social media: If you want to increase brand exposure and help(?) with rankings it's one thing; if you want someone to be able to respond to questions put to you, complaints, general dialog, it's more about PR.
Some companies will do full brand management, others will simply populate the social networks with relevant information

with an advent of social media everything has changed. An online community of twitter or facebook user can make or break your business with their iphones. your companies or services may be getting hundred or thousand of good or bad review on the new mobile site like gowalla , either building up your reputation or treating it down without you even knowing it.

I couldn't agree more with Emma, Social media is all about engaging with your followers. promo tweets and ads just wont cut it and you won't see any kind of return from using it in that way.

I personally would steer clear of using an agency to handle your SM, it's something you need to build into your core in-house marketing plan. You know your customers better then anyone else could, you have already established your own voice and personality, using an agency can distract from that and actually damage your brand in the process.

If you have the means to do so, I would strongly advise employing someone to manage this from within your company.

Some great thoughts here - this is why I always make clear that although when I manage accounts I will engage, chat with (with full consent and information) with a fan base for a client - that they MUST make an effort themselves only THEY know their business inside and out. They are the expert when it comes to their business and their clients needs.

I can only guide as said previously.

If you don't have a plan you are dead in the water.
