Dear All,

Find that I have less & less time for site engine submissions these days

what is the quickest, most efficent way of submitting my website please

Has been a long long while since it was submitting and have suffered in the rankings stakes

You don't need to manually submit your site to search engines. By building inbound links your site will be indexed by search engines and by adding new content and keeping yoru site fresh the search engines will visit and re-index your site frequently.

How is that best covered? by inbound links are you referring to recipricol links?

Was easier when you could submit it manually......time, time, time...o where do i find the time!!

I would try and avoid reciprocal links, as their value in the eyes of the search engines has dropped significantly. The best way to build links to your site is via online directories and article Web sites. These have both been discussed at length many times before, so "search" is your best bet and you'll find lots of information.

Also be sure to not go crazy and get loads of links at once - search engines look at many factors relating to links, including:

- the age of the link
- the rate at which your site acquires links
- the page that links to you
- the text used in the link (and to a lesser extent, the text surrounding the link, but don't worry too much about this)

As Matt said, free directories are good for links (search for "free directory list" and you'll find some) and articles are good for links (to a lesser extent) and leads / click through traffic (search for "article directories" to find places to submit your articles to).

Link exchanges still hold value (not as much as they once did), but try to keep them limited to related sites to your own. Work on the basis that if you are happy for your visitors to visit the other site (ie, they'll find it useful), then go for it.

You could also try press release distribution online (check out PRweb), but this has become less effective these days as well.

The best links you can get are natural ones from good sources such as news sites - sometimes the direct traffic you can get from them is even better than the actual links themselves!
