Ltd co, with accounting year 1 October -> 30 September

FY22/23, most of the profits made in teh 1st half of the year.

However: Apr 2023 saw an increase to the rate of corporation tax. (Thus company year is 6 months pre, 6 months post April).

Is the only option to submit a single CT600 covering that entire period, or is it possible to do 2x CT600 submissions (Oct->Mar, Apr->Sept) ?

(I'm assuming no, since I couldn't see a way to do this in the gov.uk portal that I have always done these submissions).

You have to do one CT return and time apportion your profits. The following is a cut and paste from HMRC guidance:

Company profits arising in an accounting period are apportioned between the financial years in which the accounting period falls: CTA09/S8 (5). This apportionment is made on a time basis (by reference to days). No other basis is acceptable
