Hi There,
I'm looking to get some clarity around what I need to do for shipping orders to customers in the US and EU.
I'm setting up a small and quite niche shopify store and will be selling low ticket items - the average order value is likely to be around £7.
I do not expect to clear more than a couple thousand pounds in revenue in total this year and will likely be a loss making endeavour. The community I am trying to reach is global and I really would like to be able to ship to the US and to the EU (as well as potentially other places).
Planning to operate as a sole trader in the UK and won't get anywhere near the VAT threshold here in the UK.
Is anyone able to help point me in the direction of what I'll need to do in order to fulfil or ship orders to someone who buys one in the US or EU? Do I need to register for tax in each of these countries? Seems a lot of effort if I might only sell a small handful of products total, but would love anyone's experience or advice on that one!
Cheers,
Poke
P.S. For what it's worth the product was made in the UK and is currently in the UK prior to any potential sales abroad
