schema markup- please help

I have a local business website.Is schema markup vital for my organic listing?
If it is, I can't get my head round how to do it.
Can anyone here do it for a reasonable amount?

No, it's not vital. It might be a small ranking factor (debatable) but I think for a lot of people there are much more productive things they can do SEO-wise before they need to address schema markup.

Brian Dean's study of 1 million search results suggested that it wasn't a ranking factor but who knows, it might have more influence in the future...

Schema markup is easy. All you need to do is add the code to the document head. If you have a Wordpress site there are plugins that will do it for you (I built one in a couple of hours). Other platforms may well have something similar.

But if you don't include schema data it's not going to make any difference to anything.
