Looking for a new trolly jack and checked the reviews of the company it has a five star review followed by " they make stuff " I already feckin gathered that !

Even my 8 years old Granddaughter finds the 5 star reviews that say have not tried it yet funny

A pointless review is worse than a bad review :)

They are junk because a good percentage are paid for. Companies buy fake reviews. Google business profiles are full of them.

There's lots of entertainment to be had in 1-star reviews

Reading reviews is a bit like taking advice on here - you need to look at the contributor's credentials and history to know whether to take it seriously.

TBH I can't see where the whole review thing can go from here. TripAdvisor tried very hard to become serious,/legit but haven't really succeeded.

A lot of the time they are bugged to leave a review over and over again until eventually, they leave one just to stop all the nagging.

I recently bought some new mouth guards for daughters before the next Rugby season. I was getting hassled for reviews before i had opened the packaging.

I can write a review of the moulding process - when they have done it

I can write a review of fit - when they have worn them for a game or 2

I can write a review of durability - at the end of season

I can write a review of protection - if/when they get a head/boot in the chops

I can't write a review whilst still staring at an unopened cardboard box

Automation! It’s all set up so the request for the review and all subsequent marketing emails are automated. No humans involved in the whole process. They probably have some sort of automated social media thing as well. It’s how business are sold on a marketing package even when it’s clearly not suitable.
