We launched a home version of our VoIP service this week.

There's been a big change in the UK market lately as many previous providers of telephone services have abandoned them and their customers. We started getting a lot of enquiries from residential customers who had lost their telephony when their provider converted to Full Fibre broadband or suddenly discovered that they don't need BT anymore - even if they want to keep BT's Broadband.

Anyway, we suddenly got a lot of very confused people calling us, often quite elderly and often with their children trying to help them. So we built a cut down and simplified service and it's proving very popular. As it's £5 for a number and a 100 minutes (£6 inc VAT) It'll take an awful lot of these guys to make a difference to us and they do need a lot of help and handholding, but it's nice to be able to rescue them. We can recover a lost number up to 31 days after losing it.

The other big trend of course is mobile with a whole new generation not even knowing what a landline is and wondering what that dusty thing is in grandma's hall. We'll have Voipfone Mobile out soon - that'll be interesting...

So, Voipfone at Home, if you have a granny in need
