Hi all,

Can anyone help a bit with a couple of questions regarding the above?
We're interested in starting remarketing campaigns on google adwords and/or Facebook. We've done a bit of that in the past and it worked to some extent.

My question is regarding audience set up:
  1. You can set up as many audiences as you'd like. Based on pages they visited or didn't visit. But is there an intelligent way to find out the customers interest? for example, customer A browsed our website, clicked on 1 item in category A, but 4 items in category B which would tell me he's more interested in category B, but is there a way to make this differentiation on the audience set up so I know to serve him the right ads?
  2. From your experience, which work better? ads that offer a discount on the item the customer was looking at, or will just "simple" remarketing strategy will also work (just reminding him that the product exists really)
Any remarketing advice will be happy accepted, thank you!

To be honest @GuyMor it is completely dependent on your market and what general user behaviour is.
It might be common for users to click around a lot & browse other products (considered purchase)
It may well be as simple as one or two clicks, they have seen enough then they buy or leave it (necessity purchase so have no time or need to browse)
Feel free to drop me a message if you would like me to talk you through it more & to see if I can help further.

Hi,

1. You can re-target visitors who viewed specific pages so when you set up your audience "rules" you can define these then create a remarketing display ad group to target just this audience with specific ads.

2. Facebook and Adwords remarketing is great for re-targeting visitors who have a particular interest (such as car buyers).

3. There's not a "this is best" rule for ads. Your market may not like offers, for instance, and lose trust in you where others will come running back. However, they may not have bought/enquired for various reasons so knowing the general consensus will help (seeing where they bounce from will indicate reasons - will not always be toward a remarketing solution i.e. could be page speed, UX, SSL, functionality, etc.,.).

Hope this helps :)

You would probably best to use Dynamic Remarketing rather than basing it on pages/categories visited.

Dynamic Remarketing will allow the customer to see the exact products they looked at one your site....along with an image of the product.

Best of all, dynamic remarketing is pretty much hands free once setup properly, although obviously you need to keep an eye on your costs and conversions to determine if it is working for you.

Plus its tailored towards selling your customer things theyve already shown interest in, which is a very effective tactic to convert sales.

    1. You can analyze your customers behavior through Google Analytics because there will be an average time of visit in which determines the effectiveness of the site page while on the counterpart there is a bounce rate in which determines the immediate exit of the users. On these examples of behavior you can determine on which page of the site will be improved to make the audience make an action to your site.
