I am looking to start a recruitment business in an industry I’ve worked in for 18 years. Are there any recruiters or anyone who have previously been in recruitment that would be kind enough to have a chat and offer some advise?

I worked as a recruitment (mainly perm IT but also finance and engineering) from 93 to 21

the Recruitment & Employment Confederation (one of the industry bodies) has a checklist and resources for starting an agency as well. www.rec.uk.com - https://www.rec.uk.com/recruiters/business-support/starting-agency

Be aware as well your use of the word business has a specific meaning in recruitment legislation - an recruitment agency does perms, an employment business does temps - that is why most agencies have some kind of wording saying they are acting as both in their smallprint
