Greetings to you and to the Community:)
I'm new here and would like to ask you for advice, it's about the following, see below.
Ps: I hope I chose the right forum category, otherwise please move it. Sorry.

Would be very nice to one or the other opinion or professional advice.

- I would like to register a trademark - word.
- Is about the business gaming industry.
- To operate a homepage, studio or company.

  • The trademark - the word I want to register is for a website or studio.
  • If I use a trademark word, can I also use any abbreviation as a domain like a Homepage or do I have to register the abbreviation as well?
  • I already mentioned it above, according to uspto the trademark word doesn't exist yet, but a game devloper company uses it as a similiar name, under imprint.
What I found out: The trademark word was the company's previous name but was renamed. Is more than 50 + years old.
Are there problems then with the competitor?
  • If I want to sell the product in other countries, should I register the trademark there as well?
Greetings
Andy.

Domain name and trademark are two different things. You can use anything you want for the domain name and something totally different as your trademark.

A good example is diy.com which is the website for B&Q

If your trademarked word is too similar to an existing company name you may get claims of passing off. Something to consider.
