Hi,

What do you say when calling other businesses, I mean do you say your "trading as name" or company name as registered in company house?

I say what ever sells what I'm trying to sell

The paper work or these days the electronic work will always be legal
In my experience people wont care what your company is called exactly. Conversations flow into agreements then email and that's when the customer gets your official company name.

It will never be a problem

Who are you calling? In what context?

If I'm calling someone about fit out business, I use the trading name, Fot Out Finance.

If I'm calling the bank I use the account name Business Funding Portal.
AH but how many people know your business as Mark Jones
Someone could be working for you and do the whole deal but some would still say Mark Jones 👍

Thanks for replys.

I'm calling suppliers mostly but it was no problem when actually my registered company name was the same as trading name but I'm about to open new business and then I will have second trading name, it will be ecommerce retail website so I'm wondering if should I call and say my reg company name or in this case trading name (same as domain).

I would say it depends with who you working, if larger distributor or when buying directly from brand they do care where are you going to sell it.

Yes anything official needs company name, thanks.

I'll give you specific example.
Lets say I have got company named Rotfl Electrics Ltd and I'm running retail shop with electronic under same name but then I decided to open second business, let it be organic goods ecommerce retail shop with trading name organicgogo, so I've got 1 company, two businesses. Now, when calling organic goods suppliers for my new organic goods shop, what you think should I say? When I'll say: Hi my name is xxx I'm at Rotfl Electrincs Ltd, they may be suprised how this company could be connected to organic goods, on the other hand I could say I'm at Organicgogo cause they will supply actually my second shop with organic goods, or should I say I'm at Rotfl Electronics Ltd, we are owners of rotflelectronics.co.uk and also organicgogo.co.uk, I'm calling you regarding organics goods as we looking to expand our catalog on our ecommerce retail website organicgogo.co.uk..

I hope it makes better view what I'm trying to ask.
