Purely commissioned based marketing

Hi, I'm new to the forum, and have a (hopefully) fairly simple question to ask.

Me and my business partners are looking to market an informational guide online, it comes in ebook form, and is going to only be available for purchase through our website. Anyway, the revenue model we have is as follows, you purchase the eBook for a fairly low price and bundled in with this you contract for paid monthly bulletins to keep you up to date. The up front unit cost is extremely attractive to consumers, we hope anyway, at just £0.99 (no credit or debit card fees). We have a payment processor who is able to offer continuous payment authorities and we're all good to go.....except we need to more generate sales.

So, basically, we're offering £15 commissions for anyone who can sell our book/bulletin package. Our processor is completely secure and we are registered as a limited company. My partners and I have agreed to offer £15 per sale for 1-100 sales per month, £17.50 for sales 101-1,000 per month and £20 for sales 1,001+ per month.

The book is well-written and the bulletins will be too, and the up front cost is especially attractive (effectively it's a form of loss leader I suppose).

We have made approximately 500 sales under our own steam, but, frankly, this is not anything like what the product is capable of and is nothing like what we want, so we're looking to spread some wealth.

Where/how would we go about getting interest? Would anyone here be interested? Please PM me for more details.

Hi there, I think you will find that commission is far too low, people have to cover phone costs, business running costs. Ive worked comm only, but they were paying £60 just for an appointment, not even for the sale, I think you will struggle OP

I understand that it is high risk, but presumably for those "in the know" as far as marketing goes nothing is completely unknown? If the product is good, and you know who to target presumably you can say, "We're going to make between 20 and 50 sales a day/week/month, so we want, say, £60 per sale to make it worthwhile?".

We get to risk factor again, the sme takes none, and the telemarketer takes it all, dependent on the value of an appointment, or sale, have you tried selling the product yourself? I always suggest this as a tester as what to expect a sales person to do

It's not at all viable using independent sales people, no one who is any good will work for that little. It's going to cost you more in time and administration than you will ever see back in profit.

As I said we have made 500 sales as I said in the OP, but we want to make a lot more. Our total revenue stream from this product is going to be very high, relative to the initial cost we charge the customer, to wit we can offer a good commission. PM me if you're interested and I can give you some figures. BTW, we are not necessarily talking telemarketing, we're talking door-to-door probably, or online marketing. It will, effectively, be a profit sharing arrangement.

An informational guide online is an interesting one and as i noticed in your post you need to widen the influence of your product or services. I would suggest to try every possible platforms that will able to reach your targeted audience and Inforgraphics will be the best one to do so.

Please expand, this is an avenue me and my partners have not yet explored.
