I work for a promotional merchandise company, and it would be great to get some feedback from some marketeers about what sort of promotional items generally work best/what you prefer?

Do you feel you need more help when deciding on a product, or that when you make an enquiry you already have an idea of what you're looking for?

Hi Sarah,
The Basics work for us, Pens and Key-rings. We're a Packaging company so we just want to keep our name at the front of peoples minds and ensure they have a reminder when they need to re-order their packaging. We're thinking of doing some magents at a later stage - some for retails so they can attach it to their tills or in their back offices so they don't have to look to hard for our number when they need it.
There are so many promotional products on the market now it is so hard to pick and choose!
I have so many mugs, fabric bags and notepads on my desk after exhibiting at shows.

Hi there,

I work in manufacturing company where we print plastic cards and also paper folders for them etc.

In my 2-3 years experience, customers from whole Europe were successful using loyalty/discount cards in their different companies: retail clothes shop, grocery store, sports club membership cards and so on.

The best promotional products I've received are tumbler and mousepad.

We too are a promotional products company. We find our best sellers are promotional pens, keyrings, bags and mugs. Interestingly however, more and more people are chosing environmentally friendly products these days. Also USB sticks are gaining in popularity, as are any computer related products.

Most user-friendly are pens, mugs and USB sticks. In other words every day items that are used in an office/building.

Biggest waste of time are mouse mats.

My personal choice are tumblers and stadium cups, these are good options for companies to consider in their promotional efforts. Sleeves for plastic sports bottles can be printed with a name or logo and offers users protection from hot drinks. Bottle holders can also be branded with a company logo or name. Drink bottles can be associated with active lifestyles, so a company will have the benefit of being linked with health and vitality in the minds of potential customers.
