Hi

we sell a very premium laundry product through our store and fb.

it comes in a 5L drum. I have to be honest the bottle looks ugly and it’s not appealing. The good news is the product is awesome.

For now I am keeping the bottles due to the costs involved. I’m in the process of giving it a name and putting my own labels.

To reach a bigger audience which other avenues could I use to make people aware of our product.

regards

As of marketing, have you created other social media pages for the product? However if you aren't keen on the packaging yet is it worth posting about the product if you aren't going to show the full thing or something your not happy with visually? Might be worth looking into that more before getting it out there even though you've mentioned the costs involved which is understandable from a starting point. Focus on marketing the product itself, if you say its really good. Try and find your target audience and use email marketing and things like that just as a first base step. Then, try and reach out to people talking about the product topic and know your competitors. Even using social media to follow and see where people speak of similar products means you can reach them and make them aware of your product. You've mentioned you use facebook and then your store to sell, have you tried any other selling apps just to get you reaching different users. Might be worth a try for now. Make sure your showing videos of how to use it and how it works ( or reviews of people who have used the product also). For now I would just focus on reaching different markets and making people aware / targeting them. Then once you improve the bottle and packaging you can expand onto paid ads, more social medias and maybe a website! Good luck hope this helps

First thing is to understand your target market. Who are they - businesses, consumers and where do they hang out? Then you need to identify what they read and try to position your product in front of them. It may be facebook advertising, Linkedin or advertising in industry magazines. You can also try approaching media sites to write blogs/articles that are of interest to raise awareness. Good luck!

Ok....

What exactly is it you want?

5l drum or bottles? Which one is it?
Sorry I don’t understand your question? The product normally comes to me in 5L drum.
In the past I’ve explored into changing the bottles but due to the cost and labour involve it’s more profitable for now to sell as it comes

Thank you so much for your feedback. I have used other selling sites such gumtree, Facebook market shpok etc. No sale has come through - maybe I need to be more consistent?

Maybe it’s because people aren’t looking for your product so the adverts never show.

You didn’t answer my question. Are you selling 5l drums or bottles? They will have different customer bases.

It could be that the ad you have designed doesn't work for your target market, or you don't have a strong enough call to action, or the website you send them to, to buy doesn't convert well.

Who did you target in terms of your demographic on social media?

And yes one-off ads don't tend to get traction. They work better as part of a wider marketing campaign.

A drum and a bottle are different shape.
Confusing when you refer to both.

Could you make the product look a little bit like the actual brand. If your wanting to look like the premium brand but cheaper, maybe keep it similar. Would be so much easier to keep the same bottle. I'd keep the ariel bottle if the product is already in the ariel bottle. If its ugly, it will stand out as that premium ugly bottle.
Just change the name and have a different logo. You can make it look much nicer.

My target customer would be aged between 20-60 years old based in Lancashire for now. Relatively on low income and people generally like value

Do they need to come to your shop to purchase the product? Maybe don't want to come out for just one product - and you can buy large bottles of it from supermarket/discount shops

OK. But:
To reach a bigger audience which other avenues could I use to make people aware of our product.
5L drums aren't the sort of thing you get delivered by the postie. Delivery costs will be high making online sales uneconomical (probably). Which means you have to go where potential customers are. Have you tried table top sales in markets? Have you been to all the independent grocers offering the product for sale or return?
