Problem setting up Wix

I am attempting to set up my ecommerce website using Wix but are running into a problem.
I am self employed and sell a variety of items I make myself.
Wix are rejecting my verification info because I am not a limited company who is registered at Companies House.
Does anyone know how to get around this problem please.

Easy. Don’t use wix. Mainly because it’s complete junk.

There are plenty of free and low cost ways to build an e-commerce site that are many times better than anything wix can offer.

Hi @acewoodturner!

You need a UTR number. It says on their site that you'll also need an acceptable ID, business bank account details, and a physical address (this can be your home address). And if you don't have all of those details, you can continue using Wix with a individual/personal account.

If you can, change your host to another provider. You'll find more problems with Wix as you go along. Best of luck!

As others have said, use another platform, popular ones are:

1. Shopify
2. WooCommerce (for WordPress)
3. OpenCart

Hello,

Glad to see that we are all on the same page. Wix is a dreadful service, I would avoid it at all costs. Low quality websites at a high price which leaves you perminately stuck with their service.

I would recommend two solutions:

1. WordPress with Woocommerce - This would require you to either hire a web designer to build your website or your own time invested to get over the learning curve. This is very cost effective as all you need is a standard web hosting account and domain. It also gives you freedom. unlike Wix you are not tied to any single company. You could create your website at x and move to y very easily.

2. Shopify - More expensive but a smaller learning curve as it's very much like Wix in terms of its ease of use. Be carful with Shopify as the base Shopify is very basic. Most companies find themselves needing plugins to add the functionality they need. This can get expensive as most plugins have a monthly fee. With that said the basic Shopify may be more than enough for your needs.

I don't know this as I don't use WIX but it doesn't seem right. There should be an option to sell via e-Commerce not as a Ltd Company.

I'd still suggest using WordPress as unless you want to do all the pushing of the sales you will need to do this mostly for Wix. It's just a lesser platform.

It doesn't sound right that you need to be a Ltd Company though.
