Branding is a lot more than picking a name
Brand values
Brand Identity
Target market?
Company strategy?

What you are about is ultimately going to be a lot more important than a name

You cannot expect to get your brand name for free.

Run a competition with proper terms and conditions which would assign copyright from the winner to you.

Even if you did get a name from a suggestion here, you might not hold copyright on the brand meaning that you might have to buy the copyright at some time in the future.

In that case: XX Leather Gloves, where XX is your location.

Don't complicate things. Keep it simple and don't use anything vaguely punny or with a number in it.

I really find this kind of post intriguing, and the reason for that is most companies have at the least a handful ( no pun intended) of brand names for their business idea well before it's off the ground and there's stock.

Now back to it.

If you do a radio ad you could recreate the Beatles " She loves you" with "she gloves you yeah yeah yeah"

As others have commented, you need to really think about what will appeal most to your target audience. Anyone can suggest a name but it might not work for the audience you're targeting. Are they gloves for kids? Workmen? Luxury gloves for Lords and Ladies that go shooting at the weekend? One name wouldn't work for them all...

When you refer to clothing labels that make gloves the actual brand name has nothing to do with the product. @fisicx mentioned that you limit your options to sell other goods. Think of Barbour. They sell coats, tops, scarves, gloves and more.

Glovemetender.......wow that's bad.

Anyway, you want to create something that will stand the test of time, at the moment you only sell gloves but if successful you may want to expand on this and therefore need a name that will still remain relevant. Do some market research and ask people within the client base you are aiming at for their opinions. Think outside the box a little too and consider any feelings, emotions, sensory words that may also relate to your product (feel/touch, warmth, protection etc.)
