    Just an (obvious) heads up.

I have just purchased something for $99 via Paypal. I chose to pay by card, rather than my PP account and when completing the transaction, I was offered the option to pay $99 or £77.91. I chose the $99 and used my Starling card - that was £74.73.

Whilst it is only £3/4%, if I were to do that a lot, it would probably be a few beers or meals worth across a year.

I will now ensure any USD or € subscriptions I have with PP are are moved to cards.

BTW, many of the online banks offer good exchange rates, but not sure how competitive high street banks are.

This is basically the same as when you use your card abroad and the card machine give the option between paying in the local currency or £ with a horrible exchange rate. Always the local currency!

A bit. But, if paying by PP account, you don't have a choice...
