Outlook Address Book Error - STUPID MISTAKE AAAARRRGH!

STUPID, STUPID!

I was about to send an email to a list of my contacts using Outlook 2010 and I was selecting them individually from my address book (holding down the shift key). I got to one that I wanted to delete so I pressed delete forgetting that I had selected all the others.

OOOHHHH NOOOOO!

Can anyone tell me if there is any way to get these back? I have a backup copy of the Outlook PST file. Is there anyway I can recover just the address book from this?

Dont worry

I believe you can.

You can add your Backup PST file (you might need to rename it first) and attach it through Outlook 2010.

Then you can copy your contacts across from your old PST to your current mailbox.

Forgot to mention, good pratice make a backup of your backup PST file first before trying anything, just in case.

Before restoring from .pst, have you checked they are not in your Recycle Bin?

I sometimes find they end up there.

Thanks for the replies. I cannot just replace my existing PST file with the backup as I will lose all new stuff that has been added. I was looking for a way of importing only the address book from the PST file.

(... and they are unfortunately not in the deleted items folder.)

Hi

You do not need to.

You can attach more than one PST file to your Outlook.

It will appear under under your folder list once you attached it (With Outlook 2010 it actually displays the name of your PST file.

From there it will show you the folder list, compy your contacts (drag and drop) from there.
