Outlook 2007 Problem

Hi all,

I'm having a bit of an issue with my Outlook 2007. I had two email accounts set up previously, I deleted them and I have added a new one, however it doesn't look like the "main" account on the side - image below

Does anyone know how to make this email be the main, and only one? It's set as Default already.

Simple one I bet, so apologies in advance!

Hi Adam

Sorry to be a pain. There's 3 data files, Archive, Personal and @Ryan. It's only letting me make Archive and Personal the default, even after restarting Outlook after I've done it (just closing and opening Outlook back up)

Is there email in the Ryan@ data file?

If not you can just create a new outlook profile and start again.

If there is mail in there you will either need to export the email and import when you have finished setting up your email on the new profile or relink the old data profile to the new outlook profile.

OK ,

Click file import and export, export to file, then select personal folder (pst)

Select the root of your ryan@ account and make sure there's a tick in include sub folders.

Click next and select your desktop and give it a name called 'backup'.

This should start exporting your email.

Now goto control panel and find mail(32bit) click that.

Then click show profile then add new profile, give it a name and setup your email account again with your pop settings. Once complete from the drop down always use this profile , select the new profile you have just created and click ok.

Now launch outlook, click file import and export and select import from file. Go to the file you exported this will be on your desktop select that file and do the import.

This will then import all your old email into the new outlook data file.

This is all from memory so it may be a little sketchy. Just replying while watching the tv, but I'm around 99% there I reckon!

Hope that helps

Thanks Adam, you've been a great help.

I'll take a look when I get back to that computer.

In the meantime, email-related. I was looking at Microsoft Exchange email accounts, mainly because I'm often switching from phone, to iPad, to laptop etc so would be good to have them constantly up to date. Is there any easy way to do this? I presume I'd need some sort of hosting?

I'd only need it for one email account
