Online storage - like dropbox

Hi

We want an place online where 7 users can drop pdf files onto.

We need it to be easy to use (like dropbox).

Each user should not be able to see the others users files. And then one user (me) can login to this area and see everyones files.

Any ideas? Its not happening with dropbox unfortunately.

Came up 1st in google, might be worth a look. Although I have no idea about the user security of this solution.

We provide a different document management product that although not online will do what you require. It could be that a document management solution is way above and beyond what you need.

I've seen stuff like that for local file sharing, but never online.

dropbox.com is definitely convenient, but it doesn't offer the privacy rules you're looking for. As the company grows, I'm sure they'll layer access security on top of their basic functionality.

It's the permissions side of things you're going to struggle with.

I've installed Egnyte a with a couple of customers. It may be too expensive for you but it allows different folders with different permissions.

It will cost you, check out the prices (I don't pay the bills here!).

I think it will do what you want, perhaps more features than you need.

You can set up hierarchies of folders with tight permissions for access, file upload allow or deny, delete allow or deny, download allow or deny.

I can't see my colleagues' areas as a user but as the admin user I can see everything.

It's useful for us if I want a customer to send me a large file but not give them a login. I can email them a link that they can only upload one file with. We have been able to brand what the user sees with our own corporate visual branding.

You should be able to do this with Dropbox by giving each user a folder to drop their files into. By sharing that folder between you and the individual, you will be able to see all the folders but they can only see the one they have access to.

I use this will clients - I have one account and a different folder, with subfolders, for different clients, currently running six different folders. I can see and access all but each client only has access to the one I give them access to.
