Was wondering if anyone here had some success with online classifieds ads site were they actually made money.

It's been done so so many times before so unless you have a unique new twist on it, it's not likely to get off the ground unfortunately.

There are some big online ads company, but they are all very big and it is very difficult for others to make some good money except some small amount from the adsense and now if you want to enter into this and invest, then it is a bad idea find something better not into online classified.

Yes I understand that the competition for this niche is tough. I am just curious if anyone here can testify that they made money with this kind of niche especially craigslist and ebay is around.

Making money from this type of site is almost impossible these days. You will be spending more on marketing than you will ever make from the adverts.

Are you talking about setting up an online classified site or buying and selling on a classified site? The two are very different prospects.

I believe there are a fair few people on here that sell via ebay and Amazon, but as far as I'am aware no one here has an online classified site of their own (but I could be wrong about that).

It's tough. Obviously you have the big players that others have already mentioned and then secondary to that you have to compete with every local newspaper also having a classified section to their website. So it's hard to do it local or national. There may be an angle available if you can find a specific niche with enough traffic but it's very difficult.

You would be better off coming up with a site that replicated what eBay did in it's early days... i.e. offering items for auction rather than being a market place.

It would be a tough task though.

Online classified ads market is so competitive and nowadays its too hard to make handsome amount from these sites because day by day competition going to be tough and there are lots of higher candidates are existing in this field.
