office sandwich delivery

Geordie Sam

Hi everyone, Geordie sam here,
I'm planning on starting a sandwich making and office/workplace delivery business in the new year (please see my introduction post)
It will be based from home to keep costs to a minimum, my question is who do you first approach (and how) to gain access to these offices? is it the building manager (does such a post exist?) I dress well, I'm very intelligent (though I say so myself) and have all the confidence in the world, but I dont want to make a fool of myself by being thrown out for just steaming in unanounced.
Is there some form of etiquette you have to abide by.
Any advice will be gratefully recieved.
There will be many more of these silly questions in the future.
Thank you.
ps.
If anyone could send me a pm with their number I would ring them back at a time to suit them.
Thanks again.
Geordie Sam.
Howay the lads.

Hi Sam,

I don't work in an office block, but I used to. If it is a managed office I would recommend going to see the site manager or the site office.

But I'd also go back to basics and get some good old fashioned flyers and leaflets made and then deliver them to office receptions. You may find a distribution company who could help with this.

Perhaps also give them out in a busy commercial district over lunchtime?

Really great idea for a small business. One thing though you have to remember is to ask permission from management if they'll allow you to sell sandwiches in the office...

A few places I have worked the seller never came in the office they would come round and beep horn and we would pile out. There is one here in Aberdeen that has an ice cream type sound thing and goes round the offices and and workshops with that going off. Guessing you still need permission to go into their car parks though? but even without it could sell on the main road but maybe need a license for that as well as all the hygiene certificates for the kitchen etc.

Personal contact means a lot. If you make a good first impression, it will be half the success. You should prove all the ingredients you use are healthy and fresh. Why not to offer a free sandwich to a decision maker? Another good idea is to develop online business. Create a website (don`t forget about the mobile version or mobile application), provide ordering with one click and free express delivery. It can be out of your budget now but it is a good idea for future that can succeed.
