Okay, reading a few other forums as a result of some quick Google searches and instead of signing up to to them all I figures I'd try asking the techies on here is they could help.
Okay, so I have an original windows XP Pro SP2 CD & key.
I have downloaded the SP3 and other hotfixes using http://www.windowsupdatesdownloader.com/
I've also installed ISO Buster, Nlite & WintoFlash & ImgBurn.
Have I got the right tools to start with or am I missing anything?
I've been playing about a bit and it seems I've managed to extract the original data from the original CD and integrate SP3 & other hotfixes & security updates. However, when running these through nLite, some of the hotfixes are rejected.
My main concern is that I want to be able to crease a USB bootable slipstream that also contains all the drives for my motherboard & printers so I'm not having to faff about after the install. I don't know how I'm supposed to extract the correct drivers from the CD though.
Once I've managed this, I'm also looking to do the same with Office 2003 and all of it's updates as.
I've got a new SSD that I want to do all of these fully integrated and 'clean' install on and a few spare HDD's to practice on.
Any tips before I destroy this computer?
I've already made full back ups of everything and have original CD's for everything too, so not too worried but would rather get it right first time instead of spending days on trial & error.
