I've decided to re-name my soon to be revamped website dealing in only Photo restoration/retouching etc. While the feedback for my new site layout has been good, most are not happy with my name (current trading name). So I am going to change the name to suit the simple, easy to use Photo restoration service I am soon to be re-launching.

I was hoping to hear your feedback as I know the majority of you here are my target market. I have a few list of names, starting with the one's people liked the most. I am utterly open to all feedback and thoughts as it's still wide open.

Originally, I did not want to be called 'fixfotos' or something where I could be lost in the shuffle, but it is very hard to try and nail something.

Old2New Photos - I'm not keen on this, I think it's wrong to have the 2, but most people seemed to think, well...it says what you do!

Restorenow - I only like this because it's simple, and easy. It does say what I'm about, I think 'photo services' would have to be the tagline as it's not in the URL, although when people go to the URL, they'll have a pretty good idea of what the site is about straight away...

Precious Past - Fairly decent, It could mean anything, to me it invokes something about weddings, or genealogy, which both are fairly related, but isn't directly telling a potential visitor what it is. Indifferent over this one

Colour Memories - I personally like this one the most, Colouring black and white images into colour is my favourite part of my occupation. The name sort of sounds happy and reminiscent , but like Precious past, could really mean anything, and could also be shooting myself in the foot. People may think that's ONLY what I do?

Repaired Moments - Not much feedback or liking for this, but I'll put it out there.

Certainly is tough!

Keeping it short, memorable and concise in just two words  That is a tall order.

I'll throw one into the pot now:

"Restored Reminiscences" but that is still off beam to what you actually do.

"Colour the past"? Nah, not good

Personally. Think restorenow is very good.

Make sure you register your domain name before someone else does!

If you're still unsure. Have you had a look at what keywords people are using in Google to search for your type of website/business?

These can often be a good way of drilling down for a name that not only sounds good, but also helps with Google ranking - and getting customers.

Restore now is OK but Colour Memories looks the best from those above in my view, not least of all because you like it and that's important for you to be passionate about your new brand. Happy to chat with you about PR and marketing the new brand.

Personally I like the 'Old2New' (domain's gone but old2newphotos is there) and 'Precious Past' (domain available). Both, particularly when linked with the word/phrase 'photography' or 'photograph service' suggest what it is. The latter's my preference.

Restorenow, to me, suggest restoration of anything ....and the last thing I'd be thinking would be photographs.

What about things to do with photos and improvement? eg. photobetter, photogood etc

Just a thought...

Something to do with 'just like new' or 'photos like new' would do the trick. Even something relating to 'photo restore'.

Personally I'm not a fan of cheesy names, and I think your domain is better used if it contains simple keywords which are easy to remember and also provide an SEO benefit.

Don't focus too much on your business name or domain trying to explain what you do or what it would 'imply'. The vast majority of online marketing methods will be more than capable of doing that.

Interesting business, it seems like there are quite a few websites out there. If the internet is going to be a key part of your marketing then I would suggest trying a name that says what you do and also has words that are likely to be searched for online.

One possibility in "The Photo Restorer"

I like Colour Memories the most as you, it seems to be beautiful as name and meaning. I think you should choose this

I registered the domain this morning, so nice to see positive votes on this name. Now the logo designing begins!

Double postah!

Early logo dev, what do you think of the colour scheme, I did a bit of colour phsycology research and also took in feedback (most people said use pastel colours) from a few people:
