Just wondered what your most important aspect of your business is through this recession ?

Im guessing the majority will be increasing sales and reducing costs ?

increasing sales and reducing costs should be something You try to do at all times not just in a recession right ? Depends on the business. My business is involved in development of products etc and from what I have witnessed in the past, similar companies get scared of the future and stop developing, just relying on existing products. Never stop developing and try to do everything better ! Stay one step ahead of the rest.

having read the message about credit control (and the deafening silence that followed) - you should be looking at making sure you get cash into your business. It's no good making a great sale to a new customer who then goes bust and doesn't pay you. Equally if you spend too much on stock you can wind up in hock to the banks.

I think business is always about doing everything as well as you can;

have a great product/offering
be easy to buy from
give great customer service
do the admin promptly and follow absolutely everything up.

No change in a recession really, except people who muddle through in good times come unstuck when things are tight.
