Dear Member

I have established an agreement with an overseas surgical gloves manufacturer who are already supplying in the EU.I want to be the supplier of the gloves in the UK.appriciate any advise on the opportunities.

Why would anyone want to buy your gloves where there are already a number of well established suppliers in the uk. What makes your product any better than the ones already available? And don’t say they are cheaper, that’s not a good usp for medical supplies.

It is very hard to get accepted onto the hospital's and trusts lists of approved suppliers and in most cases need to be able to prove you are a reasonably large company with a good track record to be accepted

The general run of the mill surgical gloves are so cheap and readily available that it would be hard to make much money as so many suppliers in the UK, and the same with the disposable aprons used by nurses etc

Great, you can be the supplier of those gloves in the UK.
How to get people to buy those gloves, that's another matter. You have any sales reps?

Everyone that wears surgical gloves is a potential customer........
Yes but they can already buy these from a range of suppliers. @sachin Martin needs to convince these suppliers that his gloves are better and that he can supply in the quantity required. That's quite a tall order.

Presumably there is not an unmet need for the gloves existing somewhere so will need to convince people to buy this brand. With the other brands not wanting to lose custom.

When we sold them they were just under £3.00+vat per box of 100 so only viable if sold in large quantities and made about £1.00 per box and the makers sold to both trade and retail themselves
