Hi,

I've just been reviewing the Mautic system as a replacement for our old email automoation\followup system. On the face of it, it looks very good but does anyone know if it's possible to automate the additional of new contacts from a 3rd party application - perhaps mimiking an email from a form submission ?

Any other thoughts on it would be welcome :)

Thanks

David

Hi David,

You absolutely can add contacts to Mautic from a third party application, you could use the API directly, or the tracking script (or have a Mautic form in the application if that is possible). Also there are already a lot of integrations with content management systems for example. It might be an option to make a plugin for the application you want to integrate with.

Here are the WIP developer docs which are the most up to date (due to go live in a month or so: https://mautic-developer.readthedocs.io/en/latest/components/contacts.html - if you are missing anything check developer. mautic. org as a few areas have not yet been ported over.

The updated end-user docs (also WIP) can be found here: https://mautic-documentation.readthedocs.io/en/latest/ with the live counterpart at docs.mautic.org.

A great place to ask specific questions is forum. mautic. org. If you share a bit more detail about the nature of the application I am sure the community will be able to assist you.

Hope that helps, feel free to reach out if you have any specific questions!

Mautic can create the form or you can probably connect the two systems via the API, as mentioned!

Mautic is a great system - I just wish I had the time to impliment it fully across all of my businesses!

Thanks Both.

I have posted a question on the Mautic forum but I get the impression that it's mostly covered by one of the devs.

Sorting some sort of API is not out of the question but potentially a little hit and miss. Basically we create and send quotes in an application and need a way of automatically populating new contacts in whatever application I choose.

Using a BCC emailed copy of the quote would give the information required so perhaps it's not too hard to have some code which scans a mailbox and pulls data from new mail.

The ideal is to be able to schedule follow up emails to quotes and then ongoing programmed marketing emails at pre set intervals.

I've just built an wordpress app for a guy in Finland. It's all fully automated and sends daily summaries using wp_cron. Wasn't too complicated and because the number of emails each day is quite low doesn't trigger any spam filters. So maybe you don't need a mailer application.

Interesting - from a pure quote follow up that could work. The issue would be the ongoing, ever growing rolling email shots.

There is a big difference between a follow up email and sending mailshots to a mailing list.

The first can be handled within wordpress. The second needs a mailer application.
