Hello,

I need some advice about how I can get new customers for my business.

I am selling online services to other small businesses (B2B). My ideal customers are small businesses (0 to 10 employees) that works in construction, transport and beauty industry (saloons .etc).

I have a big list of those businesses and I filtered them out to see which one are eligible for us.
I was thinking to give them a unique code and to ask them to enter on our website, add the unique code (can be treated as a discount code) and to proceed to buy our services.

Now I am not sure how I can legally inform them that they are eligible for our services and they should enter on our website and insert there code and proceed further.

I was thinking to take their public contact info and:
1. Give them a call and try to sell them our services
2. Send them SMS / E-mail with info about our services and their unique code
3. Send them a letter on mail with same info as above

Is this legal in UK for B2B as long as my potential customers offer their contact info online?

I will try to do also social media advertisement but the problem is that by this way, the potential customer will apply first to check if they are eligible and only after we manually check we can inform them to proceed further.

What other methods I can use to get to my potential customers?

Thanks in advance!

Narrow your target market down.

You can try doing it as you suggested. May well be ignored.

However the odds are you are one of thousands doing the same thing to the same businesses. Literally thousands.
Can be a dozen emails a day offering discounts to one small business. Can be a half dozen letters a week trying to get the business owner to use a site.
And calls... Thing is the common mistake is try and sell what you are offering.

Instead sell what the customer wants.

Sell something to increase their profits. Sell something to decrease time spent on something.
Sell in terms of how your service helps them. Meets their need not yours.

Your target market sounds way too big. It's like saying you are planning to sell to men. Big market, poor targeting.

Instead define the target by the problem you are resolving.
Start with one small group. Beauty shop owners with nothing to do but call people this week.

Ok having worked out who the target market is, figure out why they should buy from you rather than one of your competitors.
Do not under any circumstances run down your competitors.

Sell the solution to a problem and the buyers will choose to buy themselves. No need for codes.

Oh and must admire your courage. Targeting those particular industries at this time.
Different futures likely for all 3.

Hello,

First of all thanks for your reply.
I need to mention some things further:
- The services that I offer will help other small businesses to get more clients. This is a guarantee. I am so sure about this because I saw the business model implemented in other countries from UE and it works.
I am thinking to give also a refund policy to be able to refund the money they spent with us, if they don't recover the investment in 2-3 weeks.

This is one of the reasons why I need to narrow down the market and to filter out the companies that are eligible for my project. My services will not work for everyone but for those which works, for sure they will get more customers.

What I am interested here is how I can reach my potential customers.
I will do facebook/twitter/instagram adds but I want also myself to reach out to clients and propose my services.

It is legal for me to call/text or (e)mail them and tell them about how our services can help them?
Then they will have to hire us from our website and make online payment.

I know that due to GDPR there are some restrictions regarding B2C calls, but what about B2B?

Thanks!

IMO you are approaching this from the wrong end. There is no point in deciding on a medium without knowing exactly who your customer is what their pain/trigger points are

At this moment you haven't mentioned anything that differentiates you from literally thousands of 'opportunities' and 'guarantees' we are each bombarded with on a daily basis (as an asside, 'reach out' just oozes spam)

Once you know exactly who your target client is, and can present your offering in terms of relevent, quantifiable and direct benefits to them you can start adding value to the places they hang out - if you are talking the right language GDPR won't even be an issue
