Looking to purchase/lease van for business

I passed my driving test in December and was hoping to be able to hire a van to get myself and stock around to tradeshows, however - you need to have held a license for at least a year before you can rent a van - so I'm looking to get a van for the business.

I know nothing about car/vans - so how do I know I'm getting a good deal mileage wise. Is there anywhere online that says what the avarage mileage is for a van that is X years old.

At the moment - I'm looking to buy and get some no claims under my belt. I noticed about leasing - is there any benefit in leasing a van rather than buying? My usage will be mainly occasional weekends - with it increasing as I sign up for more shows around the country.

You can still get no claims under your belt with leasing you know .... you do still have to insure the van!

Leasing and benefits all depend on the state of your particular set up ie sole trader or Ltd Co and if you are vat registered or not ....

I know that average miles per year for a car is 12,000, i would guess that average miles for a van would be upwards of that, and guess at 20,000, unless of course its ex fed-ex.........

Regards the original post, what is the budget the OP has to buy a van, or what budget for monthly payments? Vat registered or not?

I would be happy to take a look at the figures if you can either forward Nissan’s quote over or let me know the exact vehicle spec and profile (e.g. 3+35, 15K). Hopefully then we can make sure it is a like for like quote and also double check the rates to make sure we are getting the best figures for you[/FONT]
