Hey! I'm looking to get my HGV licence and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for good training institutes. I’m hoping to find somewhere that offers quality training at a reasonable price.
Any suggestions would be really appreciated!
I took my LGV C+E (& maintain it) with Peter Smythe Transport Training & I cannot recommend them enough. I took mine not as a career move but to enable me to be a pool driver for a motorsport team.
Please DO NOT use an online HGV training broker. Please ensure that any company you approach actually has there own training vehicle(s), premises & facilities.
IMO it is always better to seek local training as a familiarity with the local road network & traffic levels is a big help. Peter Smythe do offer accomodation to anyone unable to travel daily but they're also more than happy to point you in the right direction of a suitable trainer more local to you.
HGV training is expensive & intense, it can go very wrong very quickly if you use one of the many online brokers so do your research & get it right first time.
