Looking for clothing retailers.

Hello all,

I am looking for some advice on selling off clothing stock in bulk. Something other than eBay. Does anyone have any experience with this?

I started a clothing brand a few years ago with a friend. We made ladies bamboo and organic cotton tees and vests with hand illustrated designs. We had them made bespoke to our design so they are top quality and a modern cut and style.

Long story short I would like to sell off all the remaining stock as a job lot if possible. My friend moved away and it has been too difficult to maintain the brand/business on my own as I also work full time in a digital marketing agency.

I have sold both direct/online with the tops retailing between £22 - £28. I was wholesaling to shops for £10 - £12. I am now just looking to sell at cost price.

If anyone has any advice or experience with this I would really appreciate the help.

Thanks for your message. I am still interested in selling my stock. I have around 280 Tees left and around 220 Vest tops. I need to confirm exact numbers. I am looking to sell the tees at £6.50 per unit and the vests at £5. I was wholesaling at £12 and £10 and retailing at £28 and £24.

Hi Steve,

It's a shame you've not been able to keep it going. They're pretty garments/designs and I can see you had a clear market for them.

Are you including the social media accounts, name, suppliers etc in with the sale of the stock? I'm just thinking of someone wanted to carry on / build the brand you started.

If that were the case I'd have been interested myself if I could afford it. I'm in the process of setting up my own clothing brand, but this could've been something nice to learn with at least until the stock was sold off.

Hey Emma,

Thank you for your message. Yes, I still believe there is a market for these tops and the brand. They always sold well in the shops they were stocked in.

I am open to passing on the whole business website, name and all. I was considering that option if I can find someone that is interested to take it on. Perhaps making a deal where I keep a percentage in the company but no money upfront.

One of your biggest problems is the brand name, anyone searching for "Yonderland" will be confronted with many, many listings for the TV programme (I didn't have time to scroll all the way through to see where your brand shows up).

If the products did sell well in the shops where they were stocked, you should have no problem going back and offering them at a discount price.

Have you been contacted by Yonderland about their trademark and told to stop trading under that name?

@chris They do not have a trademark and I had registered my company name and web domains before this tv series came out. So in a word, No.

@bill Yep, certainly a good idea to go back to some shops, have already tried that. As to your other point, the reason you cant find my website is because I have removed the site from my main domain yonderlandclothing.com so it will not show up in search. I am also currently investing nothing in any form of digital marketing, be it ppc, seo or social channels.
Also, it is actually not a problem that there is a tv series named Yonderland - that just increases the number of searches and with a ppc campaign could steal some of that traffic. However, as a new brand I would not expect people to be searching for the brand name. I would instead be targeting other key terms in search. All hypothetical at this point though as I simply do not have the time unfortunately.
