LinkedIn feed

I've decided to start to engage with LinkedIn and get my profile up to date and engage with my network but I have one massive frustration.
Annoyingly the default setting for your LinkedIn feed is posting the 'Top' most viewed posts on your feed. You can change this to 'Recent' but if you don't view your feed for a few days it reverts back to 'Top'. This in itself means I miss posts from my network who post less frequently - they get drowned out by frequent posters. This algorithm strategy means I miss out on so much. Does anyone know a way around this?

Also, on the mobile version I cannot see where to change the feed to Recent. It doesn't mirror the web version as the mobile post dates are mixed up.

I hate the idea that LinkedIn edit my feed and don't allow me to see all my networks' posts equally. It shouldn't be 'he who shouts loudest etc ..'

It is my biggest pet hate about LinkedIn also

You can't change it to 'recent' on the mobile app. Only on desktop - and you cannot set it to remain at 'recent'. It always reverts back to 'top' and you have to change it

Apparently the algorithm is set to present most relevant content to you based on your previous LinkedIn use - I've never found that to be the case

I read a post on Linkedin once. It was a bit of self promotion so never bothered again.

    Haha, that's a good observation @lesliedocherty !
It is all about getting noticed and networking @fisicx and there's nothing wrong with that if you only hear the people you want to hear from. Since Facebook took it over it's not as good and it's a bit Facebook-ish. I'm just irritated that they think that the quieter infrequent poster is less relevant than the shouty frequent poster.

    The latter.

I get loads from LI - and I'm pretty much the same there as I am on here.

But the nature of our sale is different, my leads don't come from prospective borrowers, but from the people who guide & advise them.

Most of my leads come from Wordpress and the rest from google. The sort of people needing what I do aren’t usually looking on LinkedIn. Which is why it doesn’t work for me. Maybe I could do more promotion but that would get me more leads which means I’d have to do more work. And I can’t be doing with that.

It is becoming more like facebook and I tend not to take too much attention to the feed these days. We pay for Sales Navigator and find it to be absolute gold - one of the most power lead generation tools we've used
This is pretty much word for word LinkedIn for our business too.
We use Sales Navigator strategically, we "people follow", track companies and individuals as they move organisations, update their job titles for ones we wish to engage with and use InMail. After trying lots of different techniques including sending letters and cold calling... LinkedIn Sales Navigator works very well for us and we've closed some quite significant deals through it.

However, the native LinkedIn platform/site is a pile of mouldy manure.

Pretty much the same for us @Ozzy - Following people, using the insights features for recent job role changes etc and connection via InMail sends we have seen some amazing results. The SmartLinks feature with the ability to make out reach outs very personal is one of my favourite features

Many Years ago I assumed that the important leads in the companies I would like to do business with would become contacts . It is more of a site for desperate people that are employed and not quite professional
