I am currently planning to setup a small publishing business. One of the magazines will be a short magazine with interesting local content..which people can ready whilst the wait for dentist appointments, etc.

I am trying to think of a name but I am stuggling to decide on one.
I have narrowed it down to the two below, which do you think is best, if any.

The Five Minute Fix
Snappy

Thanks for your help :)

have you seen what your local dentist/mouth butchers have in their waiting rooms?
also when you're there, what would you say is the average age of people there?
may seem stupid, i know everyone needs to go to the dentist...but is there any sort of trend? if there is then you can get a better idea of the audience that would read your publication.

ps: have you spoken to dentists about placing your magazines there? I could help with that

People pick up a magazine for entertainment or leisure purposes. Your two names stress speed and results, so won't tempt people with the promise of an enjoyable, relaxing way of filling their time.

Not sure I agree with that tbh. It depends what the intention of the magazine is. If it is to keep people updated on local issues and goings on then I think the name works.

Most people don't really know what is going on in their local area and many don't have time to bother finding out. So to me the name suggests that its a magazine containing the most important issues/info which will provide me with the most need to know local news.

I guess it depends what the OP is trying to achieve with the magazine.

"Chatty", "Chatterbox" and "Five Minute Fix" are all fantastic, compelling titles for a publication where the target audience is the waiting room crowd. However... just how many waiting rooms are there in your area? Is this a big enough market to sustain your business?

Konw a chap who runs one of these things. Does it for love as there is no money to be made.

You will spend hours and hours getting the local info and it will be out of date before the thing is even distributed.

And are you sure the teenager sitting in the waiting room is going to want to read about the WI cake sale next saturday?
