Is constructionline helpful for international supplier?

Hello,

We are an international wooden door manufacturer looking to expand our market in the UK. We have come across Constructionline, which claims to pre-qualify our business for A-listed construction companies. However, from reading reviews about Constructionline, it appears that many people do not get many leads from it. Can anyone offer advice?

I think you already have your answer.

Construction companies already have their preferred supplier. It’s the suppliers you need to be contacting. And you need to be here in the UK with samples to show the likes of howdens.

Like most of us on here, I get loads of approaches from people selling 'leads' in different forms. If I speak, I'll start by asking how they are defining leads - which effectively ends the conversation

Thats what construction line is for. I have a number of client's who are signed up to constructionline. Its not for lead generation, but their customers insist they are registered on constructionline as its then pre-qualified - they won't get the order unless they have it!

How about the marketplace? I thought this also can be a platform for pre-qualified suppliers to meet buyers then get the leads. Thanks

I've not heard clients say they got business through the marketplace! Not to say that they haven't, but they don't shout about it!

Constructionline will open the path to the buyers. You still need to meet the buyer and demonstrate your products. Do you have a warehouse in the UK? Have you even made contact with prospective buyers?

B&Q are not going to come to you. You need to go to them.

I would say, more then Constructionline SafeContractor - Alcumus has a better Client reach and a larger audit system so they can give you an accreditation certificate as fast as possible.

We have stable clients that we scourced from Alibaba, various construction Fair, and website. But it seems like we are pretty empty in UK market. We don't have a warehouse in UK, Our product is more likely for project to project, So, we don't have a warehouse in the UK. But we are willing to make investment in UK market to slowly grow our reputation here, just want to understand which path has more potential to us.
