Hi Martyn

Welcome to the forums, I think 0800 numbers are excellent especially for B2C companies. Sadly all to many companies use 0870 now, especially the ones that keep you waiting in a queue.

All the best

Is there any reason you don't use a memorable 0800 number for your own business Martyn?

I could be interested in an 0800, I would need to know more. How much per incoming call ect..

there are no call cost, diversion fee's, line rental or yearly renewal fee's. all you pay is a once off fee for the number ad it is connected in 10mins.

hi Martyn, maybe you'd prefer us to call you rather than get an unconditional quote, but i'm just hypothesising. what's the ballpark, max/min costs for an 0800? i'm quite interested myself but certainly not rich and don't fancy my chances with calling a salesman ;)

There is no way that is legit unless your charging like a 1 grand connection fee!!
Your telling me there are no call costs whatsoever or no costs for diverting the 0800 to my mobile?

I guarantee that there is no call cost or diversion fees to a mobile phone and the connection fee ranges anywhere from £150 to £950 + vat depending on how memorable the number is.

no its once off. No monthly payments or year renewal fee's at all.

that's very impressive but it's hard to believe that i can buy an 0800 number permanently to last for the rest of my life by paying £150 now and nothing ever again. where are the hidden costs or conditions?

btw, do i get charged for all incoming calls?

trust me i hear this all the time. i guarantee that there are no hidden costs. check out our website and look under the "why use gcs" section and it will state in black and white there is nothing to pay monthly or yearly website is gcsgroupltd.com

On your website, under the one off fee 0800 numbers, you've a small bit of text:

* Add 5 Pence per Minute for 3 Network.

So it's not free then? It does seem to good to be true.

the only thing i worry about now, is what if someone calls me from the other side of the world, or plays a prank by routing their call 10 times around the world to make the call cost £100 per minute... I would have to pay that fee, right?

the number comes built in with free minutes every single month. i have said for people to check out our website and look at the page called why use gcs!!! i can understand all of your concerns but at the end of the day not every company is out there to rip people off, some of us are here to help!!!! there are no call charges at all, no bills at all, no divert fees at all and no yearly renwal fees. this is a very good business opportunity abd can save companies alot of money!

that is what it costs but not what you pay. that is what the minutes do they cover the call costs. And yes it is free, it is good and is very true. fantastic offers at the moment!!!!

Who do you resell for?
Do they include the same packages as you?

as you can appreciate i cant give you the name of our supplier because you could just go straight to them. they do not do the minute packages but be bought the minutes from another supplier.

No if i could prove that this offer was legit i would well be intrested as would many others.
But as it stands at the moment i would not part with quid to you as it seems very fishy!!

But hang on why does it say this on your website:

Call Routing Charges

These are the Charges for Routing (diverting or forwarding) the Calls made to your 0800 Number to other Numbers or Services. Call Charges are billed by the Second and there is no Connection or Minimum Call Charge. Prices are in Pence per Minute and exclude VAT.

UK Landline 3.5 pence
UK Mobile*18.0 pence

the only way to prove this offer is legit is through our website and on our invoice its states in black and white about no call charges and bills etc. all of our other clients are more han happy with their numbers and if we didint do what we say were gonna do then we would be shut down. check out both our websites and you will see for your self. the coresolutionuk.com site is for our rental side of the business and gcsgroupltd.com is for the types of numbers we have and for the buying of the numbers.

that is a legal requirement for us to have that on there. the number you buy comes with minutes. the minutes cover those charges. we do it this way because no one else does so we have an advantage over our competitors. we get alot of reccomendations from our clients and if we miss sold people then we wouldnt get them. it is important for us that our customers are more than happy with our service as im sure you are as a business aswell

well i say it's still interesting. i have 2 concerns, one of which i can secure myself from:

  • any further bills after the "one-off" payment of a few hundred pounds (i should be able to secure myself from this by handing over the cash only after making the company sign a piece of paper saying they will never send me another bill)
  • how the calls are routed (no security guarantees here, and potential for a lot of snooping on personal information).

the latter would of course be less of a concern if gcs group ltd were a well-established company, but i've just checked with companies house and it seems the gcs group limited are in liquidation with accounts 5 years overdue

but GLOBAL COMMUNICATION SOLUTIONS LIMITED seem to have their acounts in order... but they've only been established since 31/07/2007

...sorry to give you a bad rep in the search engines, but you're obviously welcome to reply and dismiss the misty airs

then the issue stands as to how established your organiation is and thus how reliable it is... if it's a lifetime telephone number but you've only been incorporated 18 months....

Last Accounts Made Up To: (NO ACCOUNTS FILED)
Next Accounts Due: 31/05/2009
Next Return Due: 28/08/2008

maybe this time next year i'll have more confidence. do stick around in the forums so i don't forget ;)

regardless of how long we've been going for are will continue to go for your number is for life. if for example we went bust your number would still work because it has been validated and regulated by ofcom all that would happen is another company would take over your account. we may have only been going 18months but we all have telecoms experience wether its bt, phones4u etc. we will look after our clients and we do do what we say were going to do.
