Have been running some SEO tets on my site and different site provide different results and not very consistent result either.

Also it seems most tets sites are not picking up my keywords. See the example test on a random website:

https://websiteseochecker.com/#arearesult

url test site
sacoapartments.com
keywords: short term rental London - serviced apartments - short stay- holiday rental

Even the above on the above site, the test results are very strange and none of the keywords is picked up on the title or description.

based on tests i vde done and the example above, what is a reliable site to test on and how to make sure the keywords are picked up by google etc

Hi Zono,

It's hard to understand what you mean when you say 'tests are not picking up your keywords'. What are you expecting to see / what are you trying to find out?

You sound like you don't really understand anything about SEO and how Google creates a list of search results from a key term typed in a search engine. You should do some basic reading to get to grips with some of the essentials. These are good places to start - I don't have enough points to post links but searchengineland has a 'guide' section with a basic introduction called 'What is SEO' and moz has a huge amount of free information that is reliable.

Each SEO tool will give different results, and the one you are using is not particularly robust. The best tool to use is ahrefs.com. Also try ubersuggest, which is free. Or search google for "SEO tools", as there is a very long list of them.
Regarding your last question to get keywords found by google, in other words to rank in google, then you need to do SEO work.

Thanks! I have basic knowledge of SEO but my question was why the test websites are not including my keywords on their test results.
eg my website describtion and title incude keywords relating to my website, but the test results showing no keywords found in my title, or describtion.

That looks like a pretty poor tool, use one of the sites comperio suggests.

It looks to me that tool gives you very simple metrics like counting the number of exact matches. Google understand similar terms. For example your site title is "the serviced apartment company". That is a perfectly good title for matching searches for "serviced apartments" and variations and related terms look less spammy than repeating the exact phrase as many times as you think you can get away with.

I have basic knowledge of SEO

That looks like a competitive market for SEO. You might want to find an expert. I am not an SEO but I know enough to know how badly you can mess up if you do not know what you are doing.

But you already rank very well for "serviced appartments [city]" searches I tried. What is the problem you are trying to solve?

Even though the keywords are what the services of the website are?
Yes.

The words 'short term rental London' don't appear anywhere on the page. and the words 'serviced apartments' don't appear anywhere in context. for example, it not clear from the content if you do the servicing or supply the apartments. When you follow the links you end up on a page that says 'aparthotel'. No mention of 'serviced apartments'. and the title of that page is 'SACO Bristol - Broad Quay | SACO'. Nothing in there even vaguely related to your keywords.

I'm probably helping this site with this post LOL

So this is where it gets confusing:

The page title of the site/company is serviced apartment company
Describtion also has apartments and serviced in it

home page: the title tag contains serviced apartments

the domain score of this site is 47 which is very good.

"The words 'short term rental London' don't appear anywhere on the page. and the words 'serviced apartments' don't appear anywhere in context"
by this, do you mean the whole site or just the homepage?

Ah, forgot its not your site.

The point still stands though. The site in question does not do well in according to that tool, but does well in Google rankings (probably other search engines as well).

Google does understand synonyms as well as exact terms. It understands word stemming (so does open source Lucene/Solr/Elasticseacrch which I have used, which do not have anything like Google's resources). It tries to match data across different sites (and sometimes gets it spectacularly wrong). Just counting exact matches is really overly simplistic.

If you want to DIY SEO you have a lot of reading to do. Moz articles are a very good start. I use Webmaster World quite a bit and they have some good threads (but you cannot ask about a particular site or keyword unless you are a paid subscriber). SEO has become very complex (and I advise clients to hire a specialist if they want anything more than on-page good practice).

Every SEO tool will give you the different results, You can also check on the woorank and for the keywords ranking you will work on the link building.

I have tested a few sites and all come up with different results even though some are missing keywords with not much content. I understand the main source of traffic and rankings are backlinks and the best example is wetransfer. One of the highest-ranking website I have come up with. only 3 or 4 pages of content but the ranking and website score is amazing.

This is why those tools are misleading. Some sites will rank well because they are seen as authoritative. Wetransfer for example provides a fantastic service and is cited by thousands of others so doesn't need lots of content. A local site can rank just on its content and doesn't need backlinks.

Provide great content, build a logical site structure, have clear and simple navigation, include trustmarks and citations and you will have ticked most of the SEO boxes without ever needing to use an SEO tool.

To put what @fisicx says another way, a lot of on-page SEO is just good practice.

A lot link building is providing something people want to link to. Not always easy.

Wetransfer's content is entirely appropriate given what they do. They do provide something to link to because lots and lots and lots of people want to recommend their service.

A lot of SEO tools are useless. A client of showed me the results of an SEMRush report (showing comparative data vs competitors) yesterday. I pointed out that its traffic numbers for his site were about a tenth of what Google Analytics shows. I then had to explain why the latter is the more credible number.

Bear in mind that each Google engine and thus it's SEO is country-specific. So make sure you use .UK on your totols as most default to .com, one of the tools could be providing you with keywords for London,Ohio!

I do very well in the USA with a .co.uk and a .com ranks well in the UK. The TLD can far less important than it used to be.

I'm sure you can, I 'm talking about the search engine the user is using, rather than the TLD on your site. You can build a .de optimised for searches in the UK if you like. After all plenty of companie have proxies based on where their HQ is so you might miss local branches unless you are targeting abroard too.

If you were selling lifts in the USA, do you want to rank for lifts or elevators? Same principle.

Every SEO tool shows different results and technically analyze, but It will not show the keyword and Google has removed the Meta keyword tag element.
