How to turn off email notifications in Windows 10

A couple of months ago Windows suggested that I could have all emails pop up in the notification centre and so thinking that this would be a good idea I told it to go ahead.

In practice it's a bit of a pain as the notification often comes ages after I have already read the email so I would now like to uninstall this facility but can't find how.

I've looked at the most obvious places and tried to google for help but am a bit hamstrung by knowing exactly what to ask for.

Any clues from the IT boffins on here please

Hi Ian,

Have you tried pressing the Windows key and typing "notifications"? You should see an option called "Turn app notifications on or off," or something similar on Windows 10.

Navigate to the notifications center and locate the option "Notifications from apps." Uncheck applications like Thunderbird, Windows Mail, Outlook, etc. If you prefer to receive no notifications, you can use the "Do not Disturb" feature.
