Hi there,

I run a competition and freebie listing website and noticed a lot of my listings have awin tracking in the url.

I have not used affiliate marketing before and wondered if I can benefit from this by adding it to my own urls on my website?

Could anyone explain this to me and if it would work on such a website such as mine?

Thanks!

In the very simplest of terms; you sign-up and get a links to use on your website. Someone clicks on those links and if they buy from that company off the back of using your publisher link you earn commission.

    Thanks for the reply.

I see. So in terms of links, do I simply just link to websites that I feel would benefit my users and that are on the affiliate list?

In my case, I link to various UK companies that are currently running competitions, so would I check to see if they are on the list and then add my tracking to the URL?

No you need to join an affiliate scheme. They will provide the affiliate links.

Yes when you join Affiliate Window you will see who they work with, the terms and conditions of each one, where and how you are allowed to promote and the commission you will receive. You apply to be an affiliate and if successful they provide you with relevant links/banners to promote

There a dozens of similar affiliate providers like Affiliate Window so have a look at joining a few to get a better coverage
