How did I find the ID number?

Our village added a tree to the Queen's Green Canopy Map

Coming Soon / Under Maintenance

Rather than telling people to go to the map, search for the area, zoom in, click on a symbol, I created a direct link to our information using the ID number.

They have now added a 2nd one I want to create a new link but for the life of me can't remember how I found the ID number

Pretty sure I got it by inspecting an element and looking at the source, but just can't seem to find it now.

Can anyone see how I found it from looking at the map on the website?

It's not the location I am looking for (they move it anyway)

It's the Unique ID number they allocate to all listings when added that I am trying to find, once you know your ID number you can link direct to it.

I did it earlier in the year, but can't remember how I did it

You can view the ID in the request response - e.g. for the Edge browser, hit F12 to bring up the dev tool window and make sure the "Network" menu is present (click '+' and add if not) - click your tree and select the last request url entry in the network list, then click the 'response' sub-menu to view the data and the id parameter.

What I couldn't work out was how to use the id easily to actually view the tree - the original click request seems to use lat/long info?

You can use the ID as a string

For instance our 1st one is https://queensgreencanopy.org/map-education-hub/qgc-map/#/?id=2019

I created a system earlier in the year where if people knew their ID number they could go direct to their info - https://www.v1seo.co.uk/seo/honington-village-platinum-jubilee-tree-the-queens-green-canopy/

No good if they don't know their ID number though

It's clearer if you zoom in so there's only *one* tree on the map when you're viewing the response, as all tree points get returned in the response. The next tree up on the map from yours is 11358:

there's a specific id param:

yeah I found that in the submission-query xhr file

Here is the one for that lone tree on Isle of Man

I'm surprised they don't make these exact links more obvious so people can share theirs easier.
