Hi

I am a newly self employed bookkeeper and trying to build a client base, to do this I need to target new business startups in the West Midlands, I ideally need to target small new businesses. Would anyone know where I can source new business details ? :)

Regards

Andrea

Hi Andrea

Just be aware that if you are using the free data from Michrome it is three months old. You can get more recent data but you will have to pay for it.

Selectabase is another data company but is more expensive.

Kind regards

I echo the Michrome recommendation if you are after Ltds and also agree that you should keep posting on relevant forums.

Get involved with local networking too - the building of trust and rapport with people will be more successful than speculative advertising too at the end of the day (even if nothing comes of it immediately).

If you wanted something more short term then there are a couple of quote for a job style websites out there - I'm sure you know the names. Seeing what people are prepared to pay you can be believing but you never know ...

Could you PM me with the services you'd be offering and an idea of price? I might be interested.

Just used the Michrome site and put in my postcode and there you were No Nonsense. Good to see it works and great to see another local company on here. Love the site by the way, makes your products look good.

Or is it just coincidence and you are nothing to do with the company in my area (SA)?

Anyway.....

Best of luck,

Andrew

I live in the Kingswinford area of the West Midlands, I do receive a local business leaflet and have enquired around the possibility of an advert.

At the moment I am looking into Michrome, although ideally I would like the name of the business owner on the list not just the name and address of the business, I do not think Michrome offers this, I guess there are others out there that do at a higher price. :)

Hi Andrea

Depending on the area you live in you can sometimes get this information free of charge from your local Business Link or local library. Not all areas offer this service though but it might be worth a few enquiries.

Kind regards

Hi Zoe

Thank you for this, I have an appointment with Business Link next week so I can certainly ask the question. :)

You might consider contacting the local Federation of Small Businesses (FSB). Members normally meet regularly for Networking events and such like and it is the group of businesses you are targeting.

We do charge for our lists - £150 per 1000 records - we offer the following selections -

New Branch
New Business
New Owner
Relocated Business

We can then also apply any suppressions if required i.e. businesses with less than 1 employee or in particular sector etc..

The total file can contain approximately 7/8k records a month.

PM me if you would like to take your enquiry further.

Best Regards
