Home business, Inform Council?

Do you need to tell the council about you're business from home? The only thing i will be using at home is a laptop. No room will be for business use only and nor will there be big delivery's coming in so i was just wondering do the council need to be informed?

P.S its a private property not council house

No you don't need to. You must inform your home insurer but if it is just admin work you are doing it should be no problem.

Yes let your insurance company know but if its just admin you do that will not incease premiums.

Get an accountant - you should be able to claim a % of heat and electric, broadband cost, PC cost etc.
