HMRC Scam email?

Hello,

Would anyone know if this email is a scam? It came from [email protected] .

Subject: Government Support Services - Keep your VAT records accurate

"To prevent any potential disruptions, your VAT account has been selected for a compliance review. Kindly verify and update your submission details promptly. This ensures timely processing and avoids unnecessary delays.

If assistance is needed, do not hesitate to contact our support team."

It then had a link to sign into the government gateway which I haven't used.

given who's sent it, clearly a scam.

Never use a link to log in to your account. If you hover over that link, it'll show that it's actually taking you somewhere else.

It's a scam.

Maybe they do but never from guusco.com

I had one with a completely different e-mail address. If it's not a .gov.uk address ignore it. If in doubt login to your account by entering the URL yourself, not clicking a link.
