Hi All, just joined up this morning.
Based in Derby City area, I'm just starting out on a vinyl cutting servce primarily aimed at racing machines (2 wheeled mostly) but will also give other stuff a go too.
I'm not financially dependant on this as I am working for a non-related company as a direct employee and so the cutting service is done ad-hoc with customers being awre that turnaround times are slower, but material qualty, cost and customer service are premium, if that makes sense lol
So the next step is to have domain registered and then get site up and running.
Have already popped up on Facebook and using my 'friend' to promote by word of mouth.
Some graphics are going onto my van and motorcycle too.
I don't anticipate spending a lot on actually advertising such as mail drops, newspapers or magazines etc as the cutting 'industry' is swamped by large scale operations that would literally bury me in a day but everyone has to start small and that's what I'm doing.
From this forum, I would expect to mainly browse the threads and perhaps learn from others' experiences (good and bad) and also post up anything business-wise that may be relvant to the graphics/media side of things and of course in the fullness of time I may be of help to anyone else joining with a similar aim; there are lots of customers out there, enough for everyone lol
And, you never know, this little passionate project of mine may, just maybe, turn out ot be something really productive and long-term.
We'll see.
