Hi everyone, hope you are all well. My name is Ami, I was made redundant a while ago and after getting really distraught about not being able to find another job I decided to start up myself. This is what i'm doing


"BOOKKEEPING AND ADMIN SERVICES FOR SOLE TRADERS AND SMALL COMPANIES IN THE DERBYSHIRE AREA.

I'M JUST IN THE MIDDLE OF SETTING UP MY COMPANY AJ BUSINESS SOLUTIONS IN SWADLINCOTE BUT I DO COVER SOUTH DERBYSHIRE. MY SERVICES INCLUDE BOOKKEEPING, PURCHASE AND SALES LEDGER, TRIAL BALANCE, CREDIT CONTROL, INVOICING, COPY AND AUDIO TYPING, CALL MINDING AND MESSAGE TAKING, MAILSHOTS AND MARKET RESEARCH, DIARY MANAGEMENT, DATABASE CLEANSING AND UPDATING AND WORD PROCESSING."

Its very early days for me yet as I only have one client but one is better than none I hope to gain loads of tips and advice from you guys.

Welcom to the forums Ami make yourself comfortable and spare some time to read threads of your interest as you will solve many problems you might have.
I am new here as well and my first advice is ont type with caps ...It is like Shouting in your readers ears

Are you a member of a book keeping or accountancy body?

If not you will need to register with the HMRC under the money laundering regulations (criminal offence not to). Look at their website for more details.

yes all my practising certs, membership and insurances are in place just need some clients now

That's great, I'm down in Somerset so I can't help much from a client point of view. However you could join the Federation of Small Businesses, they run networking events for new members - make sure you have business cards at the ready!
